Policy Agreement
Every client is required to read and sign this Policy Agreement prior to any grooming services being performed. Your pet’s safety is first at Poochie Mama’s Mobile Grooming.
Vaccines: We require a current copy of your pet’s vaccination records. Rabies vaccination is required annually or every 3 years by the State of Pennsylvania. Vaccine records can be emailed/texted and must be confirmed at least 24hrs before appointment. We do not accept tags, and proof must include vet and pet info. Poochie Mama will not service pets’ same day as vaccines of any kind are given in case of allergic reactions. It is suggested that your pet is up to date with all vaccines recommended by your vet. Poochie Mama is not responsible for illnesses such as kennel cough, etc. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their pet is in good health before putting them in Poochie Mama’s care.
Injury/illness during service: It’s important to remember that dogs are moving targets, and sometimes accidents can happen no matter how careful we are. If your dog were to get injured/ill (including but not limited to -injuries from tools, seizures) Poochie Mama will call the owner and discuss further actions. If immediate vet care is necessary, the owner authorizes the groomer to act as his/her agent in the event emergency veterinarian services, boarding, caretaking, and/or transportation is necessary. Poochie Mama is not responsible for known or unknown pre-existing health conditions, such as seizures, heart issues, trachea issues, arthritis, irritation to skin from matting, allergies, etc.
Please let us know of any recent surgeries, medications, or health issues that your pet is/has experienced between grooming. This can include but is not limited to seizures, heart issues, trachea issues, heart murmurs, ear infections, joint pain, mouth issues behavioral issues, anything, there is nothing too small to know about your pet!
Equipment: To keep your pet safe during the service, tools like muzzles, e-collars, groomer helpers, etc. may be used. Poochie Mama will always consider your pet’s comfort and stress level before using certain tools and will stop services immediately if your pet is showing stress/discomfort.
Allergies and Sensitivities: Your dog's safety and comfort are our primary concern. Please advise us of any allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing medical conditions so we can avoid aggravating these situations. Please let us know of any prior grooming history you or your dog may not have found satisfactory. (does not like dryer, nails, etc.) We want to avoid the repetition of poor or unpleasant experiences or situations.
We understand that some dogs are extremely sensitive to certain grooming procedures such as nail trimming and/or ear cleaning. It is not our intent to cause your dog discomfort, so although these are routine procedures normally performed for the well-being of the pet, we will not continue with any grooming procedure that will cause pain, discomfort to the pet, or harm to the groomer. Poochie Mama has the right to refuse/discontinue services to any pet due to health/behavioral issues that could jeopardize your pet’s or the groomer’s safety.
Poochie Mama and all associates are not responsible for damage, loss or claims arising from any known or unknown pre-existing condition of your pet. The terms, special services or handling shall include but are not limited to veterinary emergency services if the owner is not available. The owner authorizes the groomer to act as his/her agent in the event emergency veterinarian services, boarding, caretaking, and/or transportation is necessary and agrees to pay all costs. Any/all damages or claims shall include but not be limited to advanced age, extreme nervousness, neurosis, illness, previous injury, skin or coat conditions or other medical conditions.
Fleas: If fleas are found on your pet, Poochie Mama will perform a flea bath to eradicate the fleas to maintain salon sanitation. This is at the owner’s expense. It is the owner’s responsibility to treat their pets consistently for fleas/ticks. Poochie Mama promises to insure a clean and sanitized facility and is not responsible for any claim of fleas/ticks after grooming services.
Matting: Matting is only prevented by daily brushing and regular upkeep with professional AND at home grooming. Poochie Mama will always put your pet’s comfort first and will refuse to brush/shave any matting that will cause serious injuries or discomfort to your pet. If matting is too severe, Poochie Mama will recommend vet grooming.
If a shave down is necessary/doable, some minor discomfort may occur. This includes but is not limited to: Redness to skin, nicks/irritation, temporary behavioral change in pet etc.
-Due to the risks, additional time, care, and use of our tools there will be additional charges to your pet’s service when performing a shave down to your pet.
Due to the high risk of injuring your pet, we do not ever recommend trying to cut out matts at home. Matting is attached to the skin and will require stitches if cut.
Your pet may seem insecure and hide for a few days while they adjust to being nakey. Your pet feels what you feel, so it’s important to remind your pet they are still adorable and that you love them!
Shave downs or custom cuts that are outside normal specific breed haircuts will be discussed, and the groomer will perform the cuts to the best of his/her understanding of client’s directions and his/her ability. Poochie Mama has the right to refuse any haircut they are not comfortable giving. Additional charges may be applied.
Pricing: Our pricing is based on breed, weight/size, and coat type and labor. Coat condition and behavior can contribute to pricing and Poochie Mama will do their best to quote you as closely as possible. Poochie Mama has the right to adjust the bill to their needs if the behavior of the pet, or condition of the coat requires additional time to safely finish the groom. This could typically run anywhere between $20-$70 dollars. Poochie Mama agrees to call and let the owner know of possible changes. Poochie Mama has the right to refuse service to any grooming that will require additional time that was not already discussed if it interferes with their schedule.
Payment: Payment is due at the end of service. Card, check, or cash is accepted. Service fees will be applied for card payments. In the event Poochie Mama is unable to finish your pet due to health/behavioral issue, owner may still be responsible for full/partial payment of service. If possible, services will be finished another day. Refusal to pay for any services being charged is considered theft of services and will be handled accordingly. Poochie Mama does not offer refunds or discounts for grooms. If there is something you are unhappy about, I ask that you contact Poochie Mama within 3 days of your last appointment to arrange a tidy up.

Cancellations: There is a 24hr window to cancel your upcoming appointment. Failure to cancel 24hrs before will result in a $50 fee that does not go towards future appointments. Poochie Mama will send reminders as a courtesy, but ultimately it is the owner’s responsibility to remember their appointments and to reschedule/cancel if need be.
In the event of an emergency, Poochie Mama may choose to waive the fee.
Poochie Mama has the right to cancel any appointments due to weather, car trouble, or other unforeseen business issues. Due to us running a small business, when I am forced to cancel, I lose out on the source of income that affects my livelihood. I do not offer discounts of any kind for having to reschedule and I sincerely thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
No-Shows: It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule.
I reserve the right to charge the full grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule, when possible, to avoid such situations. To book with me in the future, a deposit will be required to those who have no showed, and those who excessively cancel/reschedule appointments.
Customer Service: Poochie Mama takes pride in building trustful and professional relationships with their clients. Under no circumstances will foul language, threats, insults or discrimination of any kind be tolerated. If there is something you would like to discuss or have fixed there is a professional and compassionate way to request it. Poochie Mama has the right to refuse services to any client displaying disrespectful behavior. Poochie Mama cannot guarantee that she won't get mouthy back is necessary! (;
